Sunday Fantasy Takeaways

Nick Foles disappointed. He did not emerge as a cheap punt play, even despite the fact that the Steelers allowed 623 passing yards and six touchdowns in the first two games. The Rams O-Line did very little to protect their QB. Foles never really got into a rhythm and those that started Foles felt just as defeated as those who started Roethlisberger, but for much different reasons. Don’t bother taking a risk on Foles next week either, the Rams have a tough matchup against the Cardinals in Arizona.

Brandon Weeden and Joseph Randle seem to have quite the connection.  Randle, only owned 7.7% on Draftkings Mil Maker had a beast day.  Three rushing touchdowns in the 1st half…like Stephen A. Smith tweeted, the Falcons D made Weeden look like Joe Montana. The Falcons offense did not struggle however, Julio Jones is the best WR in the league right now, he is fantasy gold. Jones demolished the Cowboys, he is well worth his $9.000 price tag on DK. Julio caught 12 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns. His 32 receptions in the first three games have set an NFL record for most receptions through a team’s first three games in NFL history.  Jones teammate RB Devonta Freeman made his presence known as well, 30 carries, 141 yds with 3 rushing TD’s.

Stacking up the Patriots is always guaranteed points. With a much expected clinic put up against the lowly Jags, the Patriots ran the ball more today, which they have not done much of in the first couple of weeks of the season. Therefore, lower points than usual for Edelman and Gronk. Gronkowski was definitely not worth his high price tag today. But, kudos to you if you played Blount or Lewis, great bargain for the points.

The Panthers capitalized on a broken down Saints team. Cam Newton utilized veteran TE Greg Olsen. Olsen finished with 134 yds and two touchdowns. Newton threw for 351 yds, the Panthers improved to 3-0. The Breesless Saints are now 0-3.

A.J. Green in his first season since he received a $60 million dollar extension with the Bengals has solidified his role as an elite WR in the league. Dalton targeted Green 13 times. Green scorched the Ravens catching 10 passes for 227 yds.

The Dolphins are in trouble. Braving through triple digit temps at the start of gametime, the Dolphins never really looked like they wanted to be there. Ryan Tannehill had no protection, evident from the amount of dirt smeared on his uniform. Buffalo simply wanted it more. Jarvis Landry appeared to be a solid pick before gametime, but I would stay away from any Dolphins from here on out, unless something drastic changes. Up next is a tough matchup against the Jets who will be looking to rebound after handing the Eagles their first win.

The Seahawks obtained their first win against the worst team in the NFL, the Chicago Bears. The first two matchups of the season proved difficult for Seattle. The offense struggled to find their groove and the offensive line came up short.  This week the Seahawks needed to come out and take care of business. Anything short of a blow out would have been a disappointing day for the Seahawks. Up next is a  matchup against the Lions, another game that they should win handily. Marshawn Lynch who is $7,400 on DK has not been living up to his reputation, today’s game he had a weak 3.3 pts, finishing with 5 carries for 14 yards. I would stay away from Lynch while he is still hindered by his lingering hamstring injury.
