How to Make the NBA All-Star Game Suck Less

We all know the NBA All-Star game sucks. No one plays defense and none of the players take it seriously. This year’s teams nearly had 400 combined points. Furthermore, the game is getting ridiculous. If we really want the All-Star game to be exciting, two things need to happen:.

1. Take it back to the playground

Forget trying to make it resemble a regular game – it doesn’t work. The entire format must change. Instead of the current atrocity being put forth, they should make into a street ball style 3-on-3 tournament. The top 4 fan voted players from each conference get to choose their teammates from the pool available in their conference. To keep the games short, the first team to 11 points wins and advances to the next round until we reach the final winning trio of all-stars. It would make for a gritty, fast paced highly entertaining spectacle.

2. Money talks

Money makes the world go round and to get outstanding performances out of everyone involved, there must be a big money prize. At least one million dollars to split amongst the winning team of three (or to the charity of their choice if you wanna be PC). Throw in a Lamborghini and a Rolex while we’re at it. These players are fierce competitors and money (mixed with a bit of ego) will bring that out of them, making NBA fans very happy.

It’s simple. If the above changes are made, we the people can have a thrilling event to watch and the players can truly showcase their skills. Anyone know Adam Silver’s email address? Let’s make this happen.
