Anything Goes

When I heard the late night ping on my phone, I knew what it meant …game time! Time to meet on the field, bring my A game, light it up, do it! We knew what audible was being called, he’d made this same successful pass before, I was the perfect receiver, no one else had to know. The only cheering would be from each other in breathless whispers. We were like college kids…playful and in dire need of each other, no one else would do! Truthfully, we had both been chasing this for a while now it is finally happening! Two All -Stars coming together to make the most of those precious minutes, maybe we would go into extra innings, play a double header or head into overtime, perhaps all of it! Competitors like to be in the game as much as possible, how many minutes do you have possession of the ball?   We speak the same language and can read each others hand signals,  both of us are coachable and can be coached. Therefore, it was a perfect fit. Tonight’s game plan, me in the role as the head cheerleader, he’s the winning team captain!  Time to Bring it!! Put on your walk up music, like FGL says “Anything Goes” Victoria’s Secret ain’t a secret no more and there’s only one way to DO IT and that’s Right! Find a way to get it done! Lesson from the summer, remember to stay relevant, you have to score and score lots!! Get the points on the board!! We are both winners!!

Sports and romance have a lot in common! Both have to be played and in both you have to carve out strategically crafted plays for maximum results! Play the game correctly and you can win. I may get a flag on that when I compare a personal relationship to a game, but it is…..not every player is going to work for you,  timing always plays a critical part just like in football time management is a huge part of winning, watch the clock don’t waste too much time don’t blow your lead and then not have enough time to get back on the board, strong start weak finish, you lose, I guess that’s why I am comfortable writing about them with humor, drama, ease and not feel like some sleazy broad…. when I use expressions like, home run, touchback, bat size, blown balls and always being sexy in the box, still my favorite.

Game Day or date night, you show up in your best outfit, bring your best performance, and focus on the task at hand. Never let past losses impact you, that’s old news, protect yourself so you don’t get hurt and most importantly have fun!! Even  Marquis Elite Pro Athletes will tell you they were having fun playing, when it wasn’t fun just like in a romance they tried to fix it and if that wasn’t possible then trades happened, just like a relationship! The goal is to find the perfect fit! If you’re not welcomed then still play your best game and look for a new team to play with, life’s short, no use wasting time when your style of play doesn’t fit. You’ve got to be your own GM and make the best deal for yourself!

In love, both have to win!!  The more you put in, the better the results, your heart is your championship ring! Only you can keep it shiny!!!!!!
