Mr. 3,000…

Love him or hate him…Derek Jeter is a hall of famer. Today he became the first Yankee to get 3,000 hits in only a Yankee uniform. A prestigious group that only 27 men belonged to, Jeter has cemented his legacy by  becoming number 28.
In true Jeter fashion, he went 5-5 on a day when he only needed two hits to get 3,000.  His 3,000 hit came on a home run and he drove in the winning run that brought the Yankees to a 5-4 victory over David Price and the Tampa Rays.
Dick Grosch scouted Jeter throughout his high school years in Kalamazoo, MI. Grosch recalls that Jeter “jumped out at you. The thoroughbreds do. It’s the difference between the Kentucky Derby and the county fair.”  Derek Jeter is a thoroughbred.
